| Highlanders do the
job against the Hurricanes.
It does not matter how, just how many. This was
not one of the prettiest games out but a win is
a win and the Highlanders have the points in the
bank.
Enough of the chiches....... The Highlanders beat
the Hurricanes 26-14 at Carisbrook, Dunedin on
April 24 to keep their faint semi-final chances
alive for the 2004 season.
This was local legend's, Tony Brown, final game
at the 'Brook and he was delighted with the victory
in a hard fought match. A record crowd for the
season of 17,500 turned up for the match with many
coming from South Otago where Brownie's roots are.
Born in a coal mining town - Kaitangata, one hour
south of Dunedin, Brown has always been a crowd
favourite and probably should have played more
for the All Blacks. Brown is off to Japan with
a professional contract for a few years worth mega
$$$$$$s.
