Otago v Canterbury

NPC - National Provincial Championship
September 15, 2001

Despite a record 62-19 loss to Canterbury the converted Bottom Bus Otago supporters had a great time on the terraces at the Saturday night game at Carisbrook..

Otago supporters crying after a thumping.

Over 40 joined this trip (even some Cantabs slipped through) with Bottom Bus and were shown a glitzy display from a polished Red n Black outfit against a woeful Otago team.

One of the highlights was the pre-match entertainment with Des O'Donnell (from the Woolshed Bar) rocking the House of Pain and getting the Bottom Bus team up on the big screen much to the delight of us all.

We were even seen on TV as the cameras zoomed in us on dancing the night away.

The Speights flowed freely in friendly conditions (rain just staying away but quite warm) and despite the scoreline a good time had by all. Luke had the video going hard for his home-viewing as Brooke and Claire posed for shots sporting their lovely new Blue n Gold scarves.

It was back to the Gardies afterwards to hand out the prizes for face-painting and pick the score and settle in to another night out on the town in Dunedin with the Scafies. One thing is sure, it doesn't matter whether they win or lose the Otago supporters are still going to party hard.
