Highlanders vs The Cats
Match report
The 40-8 scoreline was even possibly flattering to the Cats with a late intercept try to them securing late points. Once again the hard men up front laid the foundation for the Highlander's backs to run with the ball and score some great tries. Stand out players were Carl Hayman (first S12 try), Simon Maling, Kelvin Middleton, Sam Harding, Taine Randell and Byron Kelleher. Jeff Wilson on the wing continued his strong form with another try and set up another along with many penetrating runs. Off the field the Bottom Bus crew was on fire also. Under balmy night conditions the +50 'greenies' danced and sang away the night as the game went the way of the Highlanders. A special mention must go to the Dutchies with the hat they were wearing - proud Highlander supporters for life. Other terrace action was a 'snog-a-thon' by Jaundice-man more than introducing himself to a local lassie. For his efforts he won one of the random prizes Bottom Bus hands out on the trip with a 'teapot' at the World Bar in Queenstown. |
